Regional Awards Information

Regional Awards will be presented at the awards luncheon, scheduled for Noon on Friday, October 23.

The awards include:


ACS Division of Chemical Education Southeast Region Award for Excellence in High School Teaching

The purpose of this award is to recognize, encourage, and stimulate outstanding teachers of high school chemistry in the Southeastern Region.

The Stan Israel Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Science: (ACS Flyer)
The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals and/or institutions that have advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness with in the region.

The E. Ann Nalley Regional Volunteer Service Award.
The purpose of the Regional Award for Volunteer Service is to recognize ACS members who have given their time and energies selflessly for the betterment of the region. These individuals have served the American Chemical Society, contributing significantly to the goals and objectives of the Society through their Regional Activities.

The Regional Industrial Innovators Award.
This award is aimed at the industrial chemist and chemical engineer members of the Society. They are nominated for research done that result in an innovative product that benefits society. The ACS Office of Industry Programs will present a check for $500 to the meeting to be used to purchase tickets to the awards banquet for the winner(s) and a guest or host a reception where the winner(s) can present their science.
